At GVD Contracts Limited, we believe construction is about more than delivering projects – it’s about creating positive, lasting impact for the people, communities, and environments we work within. Every project we undertake is an opportunity to generate meaningful social, economic, and environmental value alongside high-quality construction

  • Supporting Our People

    VIEW

We understand the pressures of working in construction and the importance of supporting our team. That’s why we’ve partnered with the Lighthouse Construction Industry Charity, who provide real, practical support to people across the industry.

Whether it’s mental health support, financial advice, or simply someone to talk to, their services make a genuine difference. It’s something we strongly believe in — looking after our people, not just the job — and making sure everyone knows help is there if they need it.

  • Working with Local Businesses

    VIEW

Supporting the local economy is a key part of how we operate. Wherever practical, we source materials, plant, and services from local and regional suppliers, helping to strengthen local supply chains and support small and medium-sized businesses.

This includes companies such as Johnsons Timber and Carvers Building Supplies, alongside a trusted network of local trades and specialists. Keeping procurement local not only improves reliability and quality, but also reduces transport emissions and contributes to regional economic growth.

  • Community Engagement & Social Impact

    VIEW

We work closely with local authorities, frameworks, and stakeholders to identify opportunities to support the communities we operate in. This can include contributing to small-scale improvement works, enhancing shared spaces, or supporting community-led initiatives. Our aim is to ensure that our presence on site delivers benefits that extend beyond construction — creating a positive and lasting impact for residents, stakeholders, and the wider community.

  • Sustainability & Environmental Responsibility

    VIEW

Environmental responsibility underpins how we deliver our projects. We focus on reducing waste, conserving energy, and minimising emissions through careful planning and efficient working practices.

Materials are sourced responsibly, including FSC-certified timber and recyclable products, with low-VOC materials used where possible. Waste is segregated on site with a strong focus on recycling, and deliveries are planned to reduce vehicle movements and environmental impact.

We also actively manage noise, dust, and vibration to protect building users and the surrounding environment, ensuring our works are carried out responsibly from start to finish.

  • Creating Opportunities & Long-Term Value

We recognise the importance of creating opportunities through our work. Where possible, we engage local labour and support training, apprenticeships, and work placements to help develop practical skills within the industry.

Our projects are delivered with a long-term view — not just completing the works, but leaving a positive legacy through improved environments, strengthened communities, and ongoing relationships with clients, consultants, and stakeholders.

We also maintain transparency throughout our projects, monitoring performance and working collaboratively with clients to achieve shared social and environmental goals
